Race Location
The Buffalo Grove Stampede is an annual walk, run and wheelchair race held during BG Days weekend. The race begins and ends at Mike Rylko Community Park near the Spray 'N Play at 951 McHenry Road. The closest intersection is McHenry Road (Route. 83) and Deerfield Parkway.
Timing & Results
The Buffalo Grove Stampede is using the latest in race timing technology, the Chronotrack D-Tag system. Benefits include:
- The same accurate timing featured with a traditional chip
- D-Tags are distributed on individual BIB numbers
- D-Tags are for a one time use and will not be collected at the Finish Line

The Stampede is a CARA Certified race and both courses are USATF certified.
This race has applied for and received the Chicago Area Runners Association designation as a CARA CERTIFIED RACE. This race has agreed to adhere to and uphold CARA’s Best Practices Guidelines. These Guidelines embody the highest standards for quality, safety and comfort for participants in a road race.

Registration Details
Day of Race Registration starts at 7 a.m. and will end promptly at 7:45 a.m.
All Advanced Registration must be received by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 1. CARA members are entitled to a $3 discount off advanced registration only.

5k Wheelchair* *Minimum of 10 pre-registered needed in order for wheelchair event to be held. The minimum was not met by the pre-registration deadline, therefore there will not be a wheelchair division. No 5K wheeelchair day of race registration will be accepted. |

Families of 3 or more members participating in the Stampede qualify for the Family Fee. No other discounts apply if using the Family Fee. The reduced rate is a per person rate. If using Family Fee, please send all registrations together with payment. Each family member must have their own individual registration form completed. The Family Fee is available on advanced registrations only.

Race Times:
10k Run - 8 a.m.
5k Wheelchair* - 8:15 a.m.
5k Run 1st Wave - 8:18 a.m.
5k Run 2nd Wave - 8:23 a.m.
5k Walk - 8:28 a.m.
Awards
Overall male and female winners in the 5k & 10k Runs will receive $150 and are excluded from individual age category prizes. Winners in each age category 20 and up for both male and female will receive a $35 prize and a medallion. Second and third place will receive medallions.
Raffle & Pancake Breakfast
All participants will be entered into the general prize drawing with prizes valued up to $50. Each participant will also receive a ticket good for a free pancake breakfast at the BG Days Rotary tent. Located at corner off Raupp Blvd. and Lake Cook Road.

Runner Packets
Packets may be picked up at the Alcott Center, 530 Bernard Drive on Saturday, September 4th from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M.
Day of Race (Sunday): At the registration tent. 7 - 7:45 a.m.
Race Belongings/Bag Check
A bag check for the runners will be available
Parking
There are several parking lots available to accommodate all participants.

Safety
For safety reasons, pets, roller blades, skateboards or bicycles of any kind will not be allowed in the 5k and 10k runs. Persons with strollers will be required to line up in the back of the starting line for the runs and will be asked not to run at a competitive pace.
Police and volunteer marshals will staff intersections and direct traffic, but the course will not be completely closed to traffic.
Course Information
10k Course
The 10k course is 3-dimensional and over 60% is on crushed stone pathways. Water stations are located near the 2 and 3 mile marks and just past the 4 and 5 mile marks. Split times will be called at mile marks 1 through 6.
5k Course
The 5k course is flat through a residential neighborhood. There will be water stations just past the 1 mile and 2 mile marks. Split times will be called at mile marks 1 - 3.
