Youth General Evaluation


Are you looking to extend your kindergartener’s day in a fun-filled, educational way?  Now, you have the opportunity to enhance your child’s reading, writing, problem solving, and mathematical skills by signing up for this weekly, 2-hour class. A theme-based approach will be implemented to ensure a more meaningful learning experience.  Some of the activities in this stimulating program will include:

  • Songs
  • Drama
  • Games
  • Writing
  • Math Concepts
  • Cooking
  • Activities relating to high quality children's literature
  • Many other enriching hands-on experiences

This program has been designed by two experienced, certified educators, Cheryl Keller and Karen Kray, who will teach the classes:

CHERYL KELLER has 10 years of classroom teaching experience in the elementary and preschool levels.  Her undergraduate degree is from the University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana in Elementary Education with a concentration in Specialized Instruction.  She went on to earn a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University.  Cheryl has two children ages 11 and 7.  She and her family have lived in Buffalo Grove for the past 14 years.

KAREN KRAY brings 8 years of preschool and elementary classroom teaching experience to the program.  She received her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Child Psychology from DePaul University.  Karen has three children ages 10, 7 and 5.  She and her family have lived in Buffalo Grove for the past 13 years.
