Battle of the Bands
June 7
Willow Stream Park

The Buffalo Grove Park District presents Battle of the Bands. It's an all day competition held at Willow Stream Park on Saturday, June 7. Band members must be between the ages of 12-21, with half the band's members being no older than 10. The winning band gets a spot to compete in a regional competition in July. Winner of the regional will compete in a statewide competition at the Illinois State Fair on Saturday, August 16. A sound system will be provided, however, band members must supply all musical instruments. Rules and regulations apply. For more information call Erika Strojinc at 847-850-2133.

The Buffalo Grove Park District invites you to spend an evening in support of National Night Out. This evening is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts and strengthen neighborhood spirit and community relations. How can you show your support? Step outside and spend an evening with friends and neighbors. Organize block parties, picnics and get to know one another! Or stop by and join us as we celebrate National Night Out at Willow Stream Park South, 651 Old Checker Road. Admission is free. Check out future flyers for current information!

Huck Finn Fishing Derby

Come out and catch that prize-winning fish at the park district's annual Fishing Derby. This event will be held at Green Lake Park. Every participant will receive a prize. Awards will be given for the longest fish, the most fish caught, the most unique catch, and the most colorful fish. This event is for children only, ages 14 and under.

Camping Under The Stars

Bring your tent and share an adventurous overnight campout with friends and neighbors! Campsite, hot dog dinner, entertainment, swimming at the pool and continental breakfast is included in the fee. We will have games, smores and more. No pets, individual fires or alcoholic beverages allowed. Registration deadline is July 14.

Movies Under the Stars

There’s no need to buy a ticket or rent a movie on these three Friday nights! Available seating is guaranteed in our 54-acre theater that will feature a 40-foot screen and surround sound. Show up early and enjoy the talented performers from Spinnin’ Discs that will provide interactive entertainment for the kids before the movie. Concessions will be available for purchase or bring a picnic of your own. So, grab your blankets and head out to Willow Stream Park for 3 unforgettable evenings of Movies Under the Stars. Please Note: In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be rescheduled for the following Friday.
