Skate Park Rules & Regulations
- Continuous refusal to follow these facility rules and guidelines will result in police intervention and/or permanent removal of skate park privileges.
- Be courteous of other skaters and park users.
- CAUTION: Inline skating and skateboarding are high-risk recreational activities with inherent risk of serious injury.
- The skate park area is unsupervised and participants skate at their own risk.
- It is highly recommended that helmets and other safety
- equipment such as elbow pads, kneepads, wrist guards,
- etc...be worn while utilizing the skate park.
- Skaters are responsible for inspecting equipment prior to use to ensure that it has not been vandalized and is safe for skating. Do not use equipment if broken or wet. Contact the Park District if equipment is damaged at (847) 459-2311 x168.
- Bicycles or scooters are not allowed in the skate park or on the skate trail.
- Personally owned ramps, boxes or other devices are not allowed in the skate park.
- No glass objects and/or containers. allowed in the skate park or on the skate trail.
- All trash must be disposed of in appropriate receptacles.
- No possession or use of illegal substances or medication, including, but not limited to the use of alcohol or smoking.
- No verbal harassment/bullying, profanity, vulgarity, obscenity or racial slurs.
- No gang activity (including display or possession of symbols, hand signals, soliciting membership, intimidating or threatening any individual, wearing or displaying colors or items of dress, etc.).
- No possession or threat of a weapon.

ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR
SKATE PARK/INLINE RINK IN BUSCH GROVE COMMUNITY PARK
WHEREAS, pursuant to the general corporate powers granted to park districts by 70 ILCS 1205/8-1, the Park District may pass all necessary ordinances, rules and regulations for the proper management and conduct of the business of the district, may establish by ordinance all needful rules and regulations for the government and protection of parks and other property under its jurisdiction, and may prescribe such fines and penalties for the violation of ordinances as it shall deem proper not exceeding $500 for any one offense; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Park Commissioners finds and hereby declares that it is necessary and in the best interests of the health and safety of the residents of the Park District to set forth rules and regulations for the facilities of the Park District and to levy fines for violation of such rules and regulations as hereinafter set forth;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF PARK COMMISSIONERS OF THE BUFFALO GROVE PARK DISTRICT, COOK AND LAKE COUNTIES, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: The foregoing recitals shall be, and they are hereby incorporated herein as if fully set forth within this Section One.
SECTION TWO: HOURS OF OPERATION, SKATE PARK AND INLINE RINK (LOCATED IN BUSCH GROVE COMMUNITY PARK): No person shall be allowed in the Skate Park or in the inline rink, except by permit, after dusk or before dawn unless otherwise posted or authorized by the Executive Director.
SECTION THREE: BICYCLES PROHIBITED: No person shall bring upon or ride upon the premises of the Skate Park or inline rink, except by permit, any bicycle or other vehicle.
SECTION FOUR: PENALTY FOR VIOLATION. Any person violating the provisions of Section Three hereof shall be given a warning. A person found guilty of further violations shall be fined as follows: 1st offense: Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00); 2nd offense: not less than Twenty Five Dollars ($25.00) nor more than Fifty Dollars ($50.00); 3rd offense: not less than Fifty Dollars nor more than Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00); 4th offense: not less than Seventy Five Dollars ($75.00) nor more than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00). The maximum fine shall be One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each such violation.
SECTION FIVE: All ordinances, resolutions and policies or parts thereof that conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are expressly repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION SIX: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
SECTION SEVEN: Any and all policies, resolutions or ordinances of the Park District or parts thereof which conflict with the provisions of this ordinance shall be, and they are hereby, repealed to the extent of such conflict.
SECTION EIGHT: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
