The Buffalo Grove Park District offers a variety of exciting camps that will allow your child to have a great summer! Some camps tend to fill quickly and some may be closed already! Contact the Alcott Center for more details. Online Registration is not available.

Tiny Travelers
Age: 2 - 3 years
Not ready for "big kids" camp yet? Then this class for parent (caregiver) and child is just right. Child must be 2 years old by the first day of camp. The first day of each week we will meet at Alcott for classroom and outdoor activities. The other day we will meet at various locations, River Trails Nature Center, bumper bowling, a water park, the fire station, a train ride, etc.) All trip expenses, a camp group picture and T-shirts for parent and child are included in the fee. Grasshoppers
Age: 3
A summer camp in a preschool setting perfect for 3 year olds! One teacher and two assistants with a maximum of 16 campers will give children a sense of security and comfort while they are having fun and learning about the world around them. A 'typical' day will include an art activity and free play mixed in with songs, finger plays and stories. We will also make (and eat!) our snack and play outside (parachute, playground, games, etc.). Small Wonders
Age: 4 - 5 years
Small Wonders is designed for preschoolers ages 4 to 5. This camp offers opportunities for socialization, special events, structured playtime, crafts, singing, and lots of fun! You may register for Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday and Thursday, but not both. All children must be toilet trained before the first day of camp.

Sunshine Explorers
Age: 4 - 5 years
This camp provides, a low key, non-competitive, yet structured atmosphere. Camp activities will include: arts and crafts, games, songs, stories, outdoor water play, and special events. This fun filled camp offers many fun experiences 5 days a week. Children must be toilet trained by the first day of camp.

Kinder Kamp
Grade: Kindergarten
Here's an exciting opportunity for campers who are entering Kindergarten in the Fall 2007, to participate 2, 3 or 5 days per week. This camp offers swim lessons, once a week (and swim lessons twice a week for those in the 5-day session), arts and crafts, games and songs, outside play and special events. One bus field trip is also a highlight of this camp. Campers need to bring a lunch and beverage daily, and on swim days a swimsuit and towel, all clearly labeled.

Adventure
Grade: 1 - 4
Back by popular demand, is our five-day a week camp. A wide variety of activities are offered and centered around a weekly theme. In addition, there are two field trips and swimming four time per week. Two of these days are swim lessons and two days is open swim. Campers need to bring a lunch and beverage daily. On swim days campers need to bring a swim suit and towel all clearly labeled. This is a well rounded camp program designed for specific age groups and guaranteed lots of fun and excitement.

Fun & Games Galore
Grade: 1 - 4
Campers will participate in a variety of games including capture the flag, steal the bacon, water games and much more.  Daily trips to the pool and weekly field trips are also a highlight of this camp.

Grove
Grade: 3 - 6
This full day camp is one of the greatest camp programs the Park District has to offer! Both session consist of activities including structured games, arts and crafts, weekly field trips (2 weekly field trips for 5th and 6th graders) and more. Special interest groups add another dimension to your child's camp experience. Campers in grades 3 and 4 will receive swim lessons 2 days per week and all campers will have open swim everyday. Campers need to bring a lunch, beverage, swimsuit, and towel daily, all clearly labeled.

Cycle & Surf
Grade: 5 - 7
What a unique way to spend the summer! This camp emphasizes swimming and biking with daily sports and games. Field trips will round out the week. All campers need to have a bike in good working condition and a bike helmet.


Travelin Teens
Grade: 6 - 7
Are you ready for some road trips? Are you ready for some fun? Then this camp is for you! The active camp is open for all teens entering the 7th and 8th grades. Travelin' Teens offers a wide variety of four trips per week, swimming, sports, team building, special events and much more! Teens are welcome to enroll in first and second sessions of camp.

Sports Camp
Grade: 3 - 8
Sports Camp is a full day camp for children entering grades 3 - 8 and is loaded with sports.  Everyday at Sports Camp is fun and exciting.  Sports activities will range from capture the flag, floor hockey, basketball, disc golf and much more.  Each week will also include field trips to the water park, bowling alley, ice skating rink, and a professional baseball game.  It is a full day of fun and friends.  Each camper will receive 2 t-shirts for each session they attend. Participants must bring a sack lunch, water bottle and sunscreen daily. All items should be clearly labeled. If you have any questions, please contact Greg Ney at (847) 850-2127.

Showbiz Kids
Grade: K - 1
This camp is will offer quality instruction in ballet, jazz, poms, hip-hop, drama and music.  Other highlights include open swim, swimming lessons, arts and crafts, games and much more.  One bus field trip will also be included.

The fee includes instruction in a variety of dance forms, theatre classes, swimming, field trip tickets and transportation, arts and crafts projects, a camp group photo, a t-shirt and back pack.  Each camper is responsible for securing jazz or ballet shoes.  Participants must bring a sack lunch and water bottle daily.  We have no access to refrigeration.  Campers must also bring a swimsuit and towel on swim days.  Swim lessons will occur twice a week and open swim will be once a week.  All items should be clearly labeled.  A detailed informational letter will be sent out in May.  If you have any questions, please contact Aly Stanczak at (847) 850-2105.

Broadway Bound
Grade: 2 - 8
Are you looking for a way to keep singing, dancing and acting all summer?  Then Broadway Bound is the camp for you!  This camp is designed for children with all levels of theatre experience.  Your star's days will be filled with quality dance, vocal and acting instruction, as well as theatre games, outdoor activities, swimming, arts and crafts, field trips and more.

Camp will culminate in a musical performed in the evening during the last week of camp.  Campers will be separated into smaller groups after auditions.  Fee includes singing instruction, dancing and acting, swim costs, field trip tickets and transportation, production costs, a camp group photo and a special Broadway Bound t-shirt.  Participants must bring a sack lunch and water bottle daily, as well as a swimsuit, sunscreen and towel for our swim days, which will be once a week, and all items should be clearly labeled.  We have no access to refrigeration.

Each star will be responsible for their own costumes and correct dance footwear.  Since this camp is centered around the final performance, it is advised that you not register for this camp if you will be missing a week or are unable to attend the last 2 weeks of camp, or the final performance.  So, make sure you get on board for the camp that is Broadway Bound!  If you have any questions, please contact Aly Stanczak at (847) 850-2105.

Dance Camp
Grade: 1 - 4
Attention Dancers! Dance camp is designed for those who have at least one year of dance training and will offer quality instruction in ballet, tap, jazz, poms and hip-hop. Other highlights include swimming, field trips, dance related arts and crafts and much more. Campers will be separated into small groups based on age/grade level.

Fee includes instruction in a variety of dance forms, master classes, swim cost, field trip tickets, field trip transportation, arts and crafts projects, camp group photo, t-shirt and back pack. Each dancer is responsible for securing tap and jazz shoes. Participants must bring a sack lunch and water bottle daily. We have no access to refrigeration. Campers must also bring a swimsuit, sunscreen and towel on swim days, which will occur once a week.

Tuesday, June 12 is the Dance Camp Meet and Greet. This is a great way to meet your counselors and other campers and get an overview of the program. A detailed informational letter will be sent out in May.

Summer Dance Intensive
Grade: 5 - 8
Are you looking for a way to improve your dance technique and have fun all summer?  Then our Summer Dance Intensive is for you.  Dancers will rotate through a variety of technique classes, as well as work on small group choreography everyday.  Other highlights will include age appropriate activities, field trips and swimming.  Dancers will be separated into small groups based on age and ability.

The fee includes instruction in a variety of dance forms, master classes, swimming, field trip tickets and transportation, arts and crafts projects, a camp group photo, a t-shirt and back pack.  Each dancer is responsible for securing tap and jazz/ballet shoes.  Participants must bring a sack lunch and water bottle daily.  We have no access to refrigeration.  Campers must also bring a swimsuit, sunscreen and towel on swim days, which will occur twice a week.  All items should be clearly labeled.  A detailed informational letter will be sent out in May. If you have any questions, please contact Aly Stanczak at (847) 850-2105.
