Thoroughly Modern Millie
2012 Winter Young Adult Theatre

Big Deal Productions invites you to join us for our Young Adult Theatre performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie.  Taking place in New York City in 1922, Thoroughly Modern Millie tells the story of young Millie Dilmount, who has just moved to the city in search of a new life for herself.  It’s a New York full of intrigue and jazz.  A time when women were entering the workforce and the rules of love and social behavior were changing forever.  Based on the popular movie, the stage version includes a full score of new songs and bright dance numbers.

Performances will be held at the Suzanne E. Hannon Stage at Ivy Hall School, and are scheduled for February 10 at 7 p.m., February 11 at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and February 12 at 3 p.m.  All seats are $11 in advance and $12 at the door.  Please contact Lindsay at (847) 850-2132 or lgrandt@bgparks.org for more information.

BG Singers
19th Annual Production

Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, April 15 at 3 p.m.

The BG Singers present their 19th anniversary show, "Goin' Places," as they travel from places not only geographical, but places in the heart. Journey with them as they sing "Africa" by Toto, "Over the Rainbow" from the Wizard of Oz, and Michael Jackson's "We are the World" among the 25 places that they visit. This is a great family concert presentation for all ages!

Performances will be held at the Stevenson High School Performing Arts Center. Tickets will be available for purchase online at bigdealproductions.org beginning March 19. Volunteers

The Buffalo Grove Park District Performing Arts is looking for volunteers to help with our upcoming productions. We are looking for people willing to usher at performances, assist with set building/painting, help with costumes and a variety of other tasks related to putting on large scale productions. Audition Opportunities

The Dining Room
2012 Spring Young Adult Theatre

Big Deal Productions is pleased to announce auditions for our spring Young Adult Theatre production of The Dining Room. Auditions for this nonmusical production are open to all performers ages 11 - 20 and will be held on Tuesday, February 28 from 5 - 9:30 p.m. at the Alcott Center. Callbacks will be held on March 1. Please prepare a 1-minute monologue.

The play is a comedy set in a single dining room, where 18 scenes from different households overlap and intertwine. Each story is focused around a different family, during a variety of time periods, who possess the same dining
room furniture set, manufactured in 1898. The varied scenes come together to create a theatrical experience of exceptional range, humor and humanity.

If cast, there is a production fee of $175, which includes a keepsake libretto and a show shirt. Cast members will also be responsible for securing appropriate footwear/tights/undergarments for the show. A student production team will also be selected from the pool of those who audition. If selected to be a part of the student production team, a fee of $75 will be assessed, which will include a keepsake libretto and a show shirt.

Performances are scheduled for May 10, 11, 12, 18 and 19 at 7 p.m. and May 19 and 20 at 2 p.m. Rehearsals for this production will be held on Tuesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, with some small group work on Wednesday evenings. Disney’s Cinderella KIDS
2012 Spring Children’s Theatre

Big Deal Productions is very pleased to announce auditions for our spring Children’s Theatre presentation of Disney’s Cinderella KIDS. The timeless fairy tale meets the magic of Disney in this adaptation of the treasured animated
film. Poor Cinderella is endlessly mistreated by her wicked stepmother and stepsisters, and denied a chance to go to the Royal Ball. With a little help from her mice friends, and a lot of help from her Fairy Godmother, Cinderella goes to the ball, meets the Prince, and falls in love!

With a beautiful score, including A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes and the classic Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, Disney's Cinderella KIDS will charm its way into your heart, and remind you that dreams really can come true. Auditions for this musical production are open to all performers in grades 2 – 5 and are scheduled for Thursday, March 1 from 5 - 8:30 p.m. at the Alcott Center. Callbacks will be held on March 2. Please prepare a song and bring in an accompaniment tape/CD of your song selection. No accompanist will be provided. Please dress comfortably and wear appropriate footwear for a dance audition.

If cast, there is a production fee of $200, which includes a cast photo, a keepsake libretto, and a show shirt. Cast members will be responsible for securing appropriate footwear/tights/undergarments for the show. Rehearsals will be held on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
